Casablanca Media Publishing Inks Deal To Administer Songs Of Harry Warren

Casablanca Media Publishing Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Four Jays Music and Red Queen Music to administer their publishing catalogues in Canada, including the works of the legendary Harry Warren.

Harry Warren was one of America's most prolific composers. Between 1935 and 1950, Harry Warren had 42 songs in the top ten of "Your Hit Parade" - more than any other songwriter at the time. Warren is particularly known for his success in motion-picture musicals. During the 25 year period between 1932 and 1957, he was employed by all four major studios who published 250 of his songs, with 56 of them becoming standards.

Warren wrote songs with Ira Gershwin, Mack Gordon, Johnny Mercer, Billy Rose, and Al Dubin. Among his hits included in the catalogue are "That's Amore" (recorded by Dean Martin among others), "You Wonderful You" (recorded by Gene Kelly), "I Wanna Be A Dancin Man" (recorded by Fred Astaire), "You Got Me Where You Want Me" (recorded by Bing Crosby and Judy Garland), and "Why Can't He Care For Me" (recorded by Connie Stevens).

"Casablanca is thrilled to represent the classic standards of Harry Warren", said Ed Glinert, President of Casablanca Media Publishing Inc. "His body of work is incredible - he had countless hit songs during his lifetime in every type of media - radio, broadway and film. We are anxious to dig into the catalogue's treasures and reacquaint music supervisors with these timeless standards".
