Toronto, Canada - Canada's foremost family entertainer, Jack Grunsky has been saluted with a Juno nomination for his efforts on his latest recording Like a Flower to the Sun. From his home in Toronto, Jack expressed his gratitude to the Juno nomination committee. "Music is a language which is so beneficial for children to learn at a young age, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to entertain children and to watch them blossom through their contact with many musical forms. I am equally touched that my musical colleagues have chosen to honour me with this nomination."

The National Post calls Jack Grunsky the "Justin Timberlake of children's music". He has earned that moniker for his more than 20 years of performing and recording the very best in childrenâs entertainment. His ten recordings have received all of the most prestigious awards in children's media, including two Juno Awards for Best Children's Recording, several Parents' Choice Gold Awards, and multiple placements on the American Library Association's Notable Recording Lists.

Jack's music for young audiences continues to grow, both in musical character, sophistication and popularity. Jack's recording, Like a Flower to the Sun, is a celebration of life, the earthās bounty, and is a symbol for the growing child. It is an exploration of the earthās life cycles, life forms and rhythms of different cultures.

From an imaginary walk around the world, to the wind rustling through the trees, the listener embarks on a musical journey. The song lyrics paint visual pictures, and the instrumentals are rich in atmosphere. From the dry, sandy desert that we cross on the back of a camel, to the fruitful garden; to the rocky landscape of Northern Ontario, to the deep ocean waters, home of dolphins and whales, the pieces echo the earthās nuances, its sounds and glories.

The resonance of human life is inherent in this collection on songs, from the vantage of our beautiful planet from outer space in "Big Blue Ball" to the daily patterns and movements of people engaged in the rhythms of work and play.

Over the coming months, Jack Grunsky is slated for a number of live performances including featured family concerts with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. For more information please visit our web-site www.jackgrunsky.com.
