Toronto, Canada – August 10, 2003 – 80's powerhouse indie label, Solid Gold Records, has added two-time Juno Award winners, the Sattalites, to their impressive roster of top Canadian talent. A staple on the Canadian reggae music scene, the Sattalites will mark their 20th Anniversary with the release of a brand new recording, Reggaefication, slated for release on September 30th, 2003. Solid Gold Records will also reissue the Sattalites back catalogue, including chart-toppers Sattalites, Miracles, All Over the World and Now and Forever.

The Sattalites are notably the first Canadian band to be invited to perform at Jamaica's "Sunsplash", playing to an audience of over 25,000 reggae connoisseurs; they brought the house down at the 1993 and 1994 World Skiing Championship festivities in Whistler B.C.; and have made numerous appearances at the famed "Reggae on the River" festival in Redway, California. Habitual appearances at the legendary Bamboo Club earned the Sattalites the status of highest grossing live act to grace the stages of Toronto's entertainment district.

The Sattalites have garnered many awards and accolades ö including three Juno award nominations for Best Reggae Recording (1990 & 1995 & 1996); a CASBY Award for Best R&B/Reggae Recording; a Toronto Music Award for Best Reggae Group; and two Black Music Awards, Best Group and Best Single of the Year. Solid Gold Records was the preeminent Canadian indie record label during the 1980s featuring legendary Canadian rock bands Chilliwack, Headpins and Toronto among others. The music Solid Gold Records gave Canadians created memories for a lifetime and catapulted Canadian music and musicians on to the world stage. After 20 years, Solid Gold Records is now actively expanding its artist roster from the wealth of talent that Canada has to offer. "We are delighted to add the Sattalites to the Solid Gold roster", comments Ed Glinert, president of Solid Gold's co-owner, Casablanca Media Acquisitions. "The new album features some of the band's best work yet, and reveals why the Sattalites remain at the forefront of Canadian reggae acts".
