Ottawa, ON - At a gala event held Saturday night, Fred Penner was awarded Canadaâs most prestigious musical honour. Penner's 2002 release, Sing with Fred was named Best Children's Album of the Year, earning this world-renowned family entertainer his second Juno Award in this category. In his impressive 25 year career, Penner has been recognized by 9 Juno nominations, and has earned countless awards and accolades for his 13 recordings, and for his outstanding work on the hit children's television series Fred Penner's Place.
"I'm deeply honoured," said Penner about receiving the award. "I was nominated in a category with fellow performers who I respect, and whose music I hold in such high regard. To been recognized, by my peers and awarded for doing something I feel privileged to do is a blessing, and I'm really grateful".
